About the IP-SIG

In 2008 the Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS) established a Special Interest Group for Irish Palatines (IP-SIG).  This was the first SIG within OGS and is open to anyone interested in exploring the common heritage of German Protestant origins and subsequent migration from the Rhineland-Palatinate to Ireland.

The purpose of this group is to help you research your Irish Palatine heritage by providing resource information, links and a connection to other Irish Palatines. Anyone interested in this SIG should email us at [email protected].

As a Special Interest Group within the OGS, the IP-SIG will:

  • develop regular communications with its members
  • offer educational programming through webinars and at OGS conferences
  • provide opportunities for the members to gather together, in person and virtually
  • produce occasional publications to inform its members of Irish Palatine history and genealogy

Become a member

To become a member of the Irish Palatine Special Interest Group you must join the Ontario Genealogical Society first and then choose to join the IP-SIG, as one of your branches.

In addition to the benefits of joining OGS, by choosing to join the IP-SIG you will gain access to all the IP-specific, genealogical material on our members-only pages, and you will receive our quarterly e-newsletter, the Irish Palatine Post.
