Claire McCormick is a final year Ph.D. student at the University of Limerick under the joint supervision of Dr. Ciara Breathnach and Dr. Alistair Malcolm. Claire’s dissertation, on Palatine immigration, builds on her 2017 M.A. (History of Family) thesis Whispers on a Landscape – the Irish Palatines 1709-1831. A regular contributor to the Irish Palatine Association Journal, Claire’s research has taken her to archives in Manchester, London, Toronto, Belfast as well as the Irish repositories. A native of Nenagh, Co. Tipperary Claire lives in Dublin where she is married with four adult children and one grandchild.
